More and more I’m being drawn to try to understand the prophet Daniel – how he coped with the world and society in which he lived, and how he prayed. It feels like we’re now at a place not unlike where Daniel found himself. God placed him there in that time and place for a purpose – to serve God’s purposes in orchestrating a piece of His master plan for redeeming this world from darkness. And I believe the Father has placed us here, exactly where we find ourselves, for very similar reasons. And He’s given us Daniel’s life as an example to follow, so that we too can succeed in wholly following all that He gives us to do.
Acts 17:24-27 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.”
