I just came across this news clip about the translation work that we help support. John Nystrom (Papua New Guinea) is making very effective use of the latest language software that’s being developed for translation work. Here’s a piece of his story from the news clip:

“After the tsunami, we started thinking about the other languages that were in the area. Could we find a way to help them? Traditionally we’d always done Bible Translation one language at a time – but when that many people die in your neighborhood, it has a way of challenging your assumptions. So what we did was we expanded the Bible Translation project there to include eleven languages instead of just one. And along the way we discovered that having pastors from multiple languages, multiple denominations, working together translating the same Scripture at the same place, at the same time, is a great way to do Bible Translation.”
