Gen 12:1 The Lord said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.”
Gen 12:6-7 Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.”
I’m not Abraham, and I don’t think God has plans for making any more great nations out of people at this point in the game. But we do serve the same Father, and I’m encouraged by this one small point. God promised to show Abram where to go, and He didn’t delay in fulfilling that promise. Just 6 verses after the promise, as Abram is walking through the land of Canaan, God says to Abram, “This is it!”
Do pray for us as we go, and as we plug into our new roles in Dallas, that many people may be blessed through our lives… kind of like God’s promise to Abraham.
